Bike I ride: Scott Voltage FR
Favorite Trails: Upper Sand Flat, Sigmoyd, Washout, and anything new
About Me: MTB is awesome. I also like skiing in the winter. In my opinion they are the sickest sports in the world. I'm not good at all at these sports, but I have a lot of fun with them.

quotes Where, may I ask, is there carbon on this bike? It looks like aluminium to me (at least the frame does).

quotes Yeah... I was hoping for something other than a techno-type song. They are mainly just noise without much of a catchy rythem. When I listened to this song, it made me feel un-stoked, in fact. It was hard to watch this very nice video with this obnoxious, boring sound in the background. Computer generated "music" that is loud and wordless should not go with mountain biking IMO. Same problem occurred in Life Cycles... But otherwise amazing video. Dean Tennant is FAST!

quotes I think its funny how in the beginning he has a fire and a heater going and he makes it look like its really cold, but when he's riding outside he's wearing shorts. Good vid.

quotes Theres nothing wrong with good riders riding, Telem. It doesn't matter if they're "usual suspects". The only thing that confuses me in this trailer is that it looks like Anthill spent an awful lot of money trying to get to different locations. I wish the focus was even less on the locations and even more on the riding. That isn't a big deal though. Tasty vid, can't wait for the movie.

quotes How much does the BB move when the suspension bottoms out? Can you actually feel the BB moving under your feet when you're riding?

quotes Hey, how much is the rear wheel travel on this? Anyone know?

quotes Well, I see what you mean when you say that Life Cycles is a philosophical movie. It is, but that is not a bad thing. Life Cycles was well constructed and in-depth, and when I watch it, It always makes me lean forward in my seat. The combination of riding, building, filming, editing, etc. were in perfect proportions in LC. In a movie, I never like to see too much riding at once, because for me, watching riding for a long time is boring. I would rather be riding myself! Plus, the building section in Life Cycles was pretty interesting too. It got me stoked to go out and build a trail, which is always helpful where I live (there are not many trails in my town). There were some problems with Life Cycles (eg. they way overdid slowmo, they should have given up on narration) but it still drew me in and got me really stoked. Follow Me was more down to earth like you said, and it had good riding for sure, but at times, it got a little boring, the Windells section in particular. One of my favorite sections was Kamloops, it had excellent riding, and the filming added to it. Some sections were kind of ruined by the filming, and especially, the editing, however. For example, the N. Shore segment was good in filming and riding, but the music? Worst sound I have ever heard. Ever. I had to mute that segment. So, both have their pros and cons, but I think overall Life Cycles was more passionate about riding, they didn't just blunder through it. Well, we all have different tastes however. Nothing wrong with just opinions. Cheers as well.

I never said anything about you not being entitled to having an opinion.

If I wanted an art DVD I would have bought the Joy of Painting. I don't really agree with your point. The act of making a video could well be classed as art but the whole point of following the best riders around the world is to actually film riding. The act of riding could be clasified as art itself.... Art is one of those pretentious areas where lines are blurred to suit different people.
My point, whether you like it or not, is that there is a definite shortage of riding on this movie, especially after paying a fortune and waiting an age for it to come out. I am fully entitled to my opinion and the number of people who agree with me would suggest that I am not alone.
